Our Venetian lady, CiCi. At least, Venetian styled. She is approximately 16 inches tall, has a soft body over a strong wire armature with hand sculpted head, arms, and legs, and sits unfastened on a ceramic candlestick. One-of-a-kind, she is sculpted from Darwi, an air-drying stone clay used in the workshop I attended in Houston, Texas under the instruction of Marlaine Verhelst and Ankie Daaken. This is the second doll sculpture I made after returning home. Her colorful costume is made of fine silks, taffetas, laces, and gold trim. Her hair is hand dyed imported mohair. Her features have been highlighted with watercolors.
Cici is made for the discriminating collector.
