Cypress Knee Santas
A novel idea of adding air dry clay to form the features of Santas and elves on cypress knees has been perfected in these two pieces. And more will be forthcoming.
The artist has fashioned one into an Old World Santa and the other into a beautiful Elf.
Much of the wood is uncovered wood, just painted and varnished to prevent fading.
The sculptures have been painted with watercolors for vivid detailing and beautiful colors.
The elf has hand painted scenes with a little car traveling along the road in the landscape. A duck peeks out from underneath his coat hem in the back.
The wreath he holds has been decorated with a bit of gala glitter as well as the trees. 'Snow' caps the fence posts and piles along the roadside. He is a delightful piece of artful imagination, and both will make a fun statement to your decor. Each stands about 12 inches tall.
