Sam's Flintlock replica firearm was remade by the artist.  The plastic stock was replaced with a hand carved wooden stock, and the metal firing aparatus was carefully replaced.  His clothing closely follows the period and the entire outfit was hand made.

He is sculpted from Cernit, a polymer clay.  His body armature is made following the method of doll artist, Robert Mckinley.  The artist hand rooted the hair on his head and face.  It appears to be very natural.

Sam Houston was a tall man, 6'6" to 6'3", depending on which source you tend to believe.

This Sam Houston stands approximately 20 1/2", including the 1 inch thick walnut base.
